MGB - August Monthly Goal Blog

My goals for August include:

Fitness:
-Gym at least twice a week: Saturday and Mon or Wed (depending on school).
-Strength training 3x per week (at gym or at home w/ videos).
-Walking around campus, and to & from school every day (~2-3 miles, Mon-Fri).
-Yoga at least once per week.

Nutrition:
-Track and stay in calorie range every day (one cheat meal per week).
-Eat most of my carbs (and calories) earlier in the day, with low-carb dinners.
-Eat more Fruits and Veggies! at least 5 total servings per day, at least one from each color group each day ( tinyurl.com/6kd8a

). I plan to pack veggies and hummus as a regular lunch choice once Autumn classes begin.
-Eat more beans and legumes, including one vegetarian dinner per week (Meatless Mondays).
-Eat a variety of spices and herbs as often as possible (esp. anti-inflammatory ones like garlic, turmeric, cayenne, parsley, ginger, pepper, cinnamon, basil, rosemary, cilantro, chives, cardamom, etc.)
-Drink more tea, esp in evenings when the munchies hit.
-Eat more gluten-free whole grains (steel-cut oats, quinoa, brown rice, wild rice, buckwheat, corn, millet, etc).
-No artificial cheese or cheese dust.

Other:
-Make it to the farmers market each Saturday.
-Stay on top of my schoolwork and study every day for at least a few hours.
-Clean my ENTIRE apartment before Autumn Quarter begins!
-At least 15 min each night of meditation, stretching, or other deliberate de-stressing.
-Get a massage, or go swimming when I am feeling very tense.
-Enjoy life and stay positive!
