Hi All,

This is my second attempt at a blog.. this time I have a question and am not sure what the best way is to get it out there for help.

If I understand this correctly when you set up your information pertaining to your weight and your goal weight your calories will be figured for you. Is that correct?

Now that I am 2 weeks into my new intense cardio I am exceeding my daily and weekly goals. I am getting the following message.

*The number of calories you should eat to manage your weight depends on many factors, including how many calories you burn through exercise. It may seem counterintuitive, but eating too little while burning too much can actually hurt your weight-management goals and the outcome of your fitness program. If you are consistently burning more calories than recommended here, please update your fitness settings as soon as possible. This may adjust your calorie ranges (if necessary) so you can reach your goals in a timely and healthy manner.


I definitely dont want to slow down or stop my weight loss. What do I need to do now???

    Something to keep in mind is that the amount of calories burned is only an estimation (and in my opinion can be waaaay higher than you think.) The rule of thumb I stick to is what my nutritionist told me - 1 mile, no matter how your slice it is 100 calories. Keep up the good work!

    I've got that message and when I went to adjust it the numbers pretty much stayed the same for my height and weight. You could take a wait and see approach. If your weight loss comes to a halt, or if you are hungry all the time, up your calories. I do know that if you aren't eating enough and exercising a lot, your body can stop losing because it holds on to the calories consumed ("starvation mode").

BTW, sometimes the fastest way to get a questioned answered is on the message boards (under the community tab).

Eat less, move more! You CAN do it!

    Yeah, if your actual fitness minutes / calories exceeds your goals by very much, you'll get this message.

What I do is project my fitness minutes for the week before I plan my menus. Whatever calorie estimate it gives me, I round down to the nearest hundred and input it as my fitness goal for the week. The system then automatically adjusts my calorie goals accordingly.

    Well you can update your settings, it should tell you how, or you can hold tight and see how your weight loss works out. I personally ignore those messages because if I intake the amount of calories this website recommends then I'd make the goodyear blimp look like a pea.
