Celebrating Successes

Friday, July 27, 2012

I've been down the past week or so, due to PMS then TOM and not seeing the weight loss because of water retention. I felt like I was failing, felt like I wasn't doing enough.

TOM is winding down and I am shedding the water weight, so soon I will be back to my lowest and hopefully below 230 by the end of next week. Yay me!

I looked at my weight loss ticker and saw I've lost 21.2 lbs since April. That's awesome! I shouldn't feel bad about that at ALL!

I still haven't been back to the doctor (my appt is April 17th), but when I do, I'm going to ask if they can tell me what my highest weight on their scale was, so I can adjust my ticker to that. But I DID check my Wii Fit this morning and my highest on there was 275, so for now it's accurate. But I happen to know that the doc's office scale is more accurate and that it's 4 lbs higher than my Wii Fit scale. (I track my weight using my Wii Fit on Spark People, since that's the only home scale I have.) If that's true, and I was 279 at my highest, that means I've lost 44.2 lbs total, and that's AMAZING!

So I shouldn't mope and be cranky because I haven't lost rapidly in the last couple of weeks, because I am AWESOME and doing things RIGHT! And I'm still losing, it's just hidden under all that water. emoticon

So I'm back on the happy train as of today. (Honestly I think most of it was hormones making me crazy, plus my boss has been really depressed lately because of a horrible divorce and it's rubbing off on everyone.)

I promise as soon as I get below 230 I will definitely be posting update progress pics. =)

Have a fantastic day everyone!

44.2 pounds!!! Whoo Hoo!!! Think of it in terms of 5 1/2 gallons of skim milk. Five and one half gallons of skim milk. Imagine putting the handle of every gallon through a rod and then putting the rod across your back and having to walk around with it EVERY DAY! Talk about a real weight off your shoulders, huh??? You're doing amazing.

Hormonal emotional fluctuations really stink. All we can do during those times is keep our head high and push through, relying on the habits we've been creating for the past few months. Besides, the retained water has no bearing on your level of fitness and health. You are just as healthy, if not more so, than you were 3 three weeks ago. Water weight is sort of like the clothes you decide to wear. Are you going to don a bathing suit or a parka? It doesn't change what's in the clothes. Water weight comes and water weight goes. Ommmmmmmm.

44.2# is AMAZING! You should be very proud of that. It is hard when we want the scale to move because we work so hard. Keep it up, it will keep moving. emoticon
