Wow today was my first Karate class and it was AWESOME! My husband came too and he had a fantastic time as well.
We started with "warm ups" - I'm going to list them below for my benefit so I can start practicing them. So I was ready to crash after the warm-up, but others appeared to have some trouble with the push-ups making me feel a little better about myself. I however was beat red and having trouble catching my breath.
I was partnered with an orange belt teenager, luckily she attends the cage fitness class that I go to and she knew it was my first class. She helped me a lot and was very encouraging. I did okay the class was all different belt levels so it was hard to not get distracted by what the Deshi was teaching the other students cause it was sooo cool.
The end of class we had some extra time so the class elected to practice their nunchuck technique. My daughter is an orange belt in the kids class but hasn't used hers much so I was not very familiar, I'm just happy I didn't hit myself in the head. Deshi said we did a great job, especially since it was our first class :)
