Hi,
Are you new to retirement?
Well Welcome to retirement.
I retired 12 years ago after 32 active years in my career. The first year was a little rough.

I kept thinking about how projects and people at work were progressing. I missed it. They really didn't miss me.

I guess I did not think I was so easily replaceable. A real slam dunk on the ego.
Sooo it was time to pull up the boot straps and get going. There is a very active senior citizens organization for our county. They run 3 semesters of lifelong learning classes.

Classes run all types of subjects, lengths of time and instructors. If it sounded at all interested I signed up and tried it out. I found a passion in photography and some excellent teachers. (Both in taking, editing and presenting). Painting is another, genealogy, writing and on and on. I have made some great new friends there.

I also joined a health and fitness center

and have participated in their programs, classes and worked with several trainers. Again I have found some great new friends.
I volunteer for my church and library for special fund raisers. I garden, read and participate in my grandchildren's activities.
You will find as you get active you will find people with similar interests and you will make new friends.
My problem with retirement is not enough time. I am amazed that I every had time to work.
So Enjoy each and every day.
