Thank you for all the advice and comments on my last post. I will keep them in mind when I go on vacation. I have been looking forward to reading what people think about my posts every day now. Please keep the comments coming!

I had a good day today. I biked outside today for the first time in a while. I went the farthest I have gone so far 7.34 miles! I did it in 1hour 3min 55sec. I know that because I used the Endomondo app for my phone. I love the app for when I am exercising outside. The app posts my workouts to FB(which happened by accident). At first I didn't like that my workout was public for everyone to see, but after hearing the encouraging comments from my friends, I decided that I liked it. The only problem I have with the app is when I work out at a gym it doesn't really work because it is a gps type app and when I work out at a gym I am stationary.

I decided to buy a pedometer today. I looked on the forums and researched what people said was the best one. I found that the consensus was for the Omrom brand. I found a store that carries one, REI. The store is far from my house, so I had my dad drive me there. I bought the $28 one. It seemed to get good reviews. On the way home I put the battery in and read the instructions. I got a really bad headache from riding in the car. Lately I have been getting really bad headaches whenever I am a passenger in a car and I do anything. The headaches don't come when I drive, just when I am driven. I went to the doctor for them recently and he told me to see a neurologist. I got an appointment for August 30th. I hope that my headaches don't interfere with the vacation that I am going on this weekend.

I love the Endomondo app. I use it all the time for outdoor exercise. One thing that I noticed though, make sure that your phone is only running 1 GPS app or your mileage will be all over the place as the signal bounces from one satellite to another! I went on a walk one day and apparently the Google GPS and my phones standalone GPS were both running and it had me completing a mile every 5-7 minutes! YIKES!

Quick suggestion on the pedometer also - you can wear it on your hip or clipped on the middle front of your bra. Most of the time it can't be seen, unless you wear a light colored or shirt that's more snug. It tracks really accurately there too and you don't have to worry about it falling off!

    Have a great vacation!

I hope your headache don't interfer with your vacations plans. It would be a shame.Hopefully you see the doctor and it is something fixable with something simple. It is good you are working out at the gym and bicycling on your own. You have to be commited to both sides of a lifestyle change, nutrition and exercise.Keep up the good work. emoticon
