Looking forward to birthday dinner out (EEKS) or am I?

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

My daughters are taking me out for a surprise birthday dinner tonight. It was a surprise until I said about what we could have for supper today, and one of them opened their mouths and told me! My actual birthday is not until Saturday, the 28th, however my younger daughter is leaving on vacation right away, so it has been moved up to today.

Just a bit nervous about where we will go and what I can order that will be a healthy choice. They like steak houses, and I love steak ...... I hate to go to a nice steak house and have to order chicken!

I'll update tomorrow, hopefully with a health update, not a 'fat' update (fatty food that is.) Why is it nowhere sells a steak that is only 3 or 4 oz. serving?? !! (and I cannot stand reheated leftover steak, so that doesn't work so well either)

Enjoy your dinner - once in a while to enjoy yourself won't hurt. I would be more concerned about the sides than the steak. Order healthy sides if you can't order a small enough steak. Happy Early Birthday!

Enjoy your meal out - don't stress too much about it. It is not as though you eat out every day.

A group of my friends and I go out for dinner once a month, and I basically have a meal that I like. I am losing weight - maybe I could lose it a bit more quickly - but I need to have a life.

Also, every Thursday, after the WW meeting, my friend and I go somewhere for lunch. Usually it is a wrap or something healthy, but sometimes not. Enjoy your time with your family and your birthday on the 28th!
