My Moderation Is Waning (lacking or whatever)!

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

So they say it takes 21 days for change and if you stick to it for at least 30 days you got it made in the shade! Well I believed that, now I know it is not the case. I am having a hard time sticking to moderation in my eating. I was doing so well and some how I have gotten off course! I keep encouraging myself to begin again and I have been asking the Lord to help me to start over. Thus far, I have not accomplished getting back into the habit of eating in moderation. I am not giving up. I am looking for some encouragement and suggestions from others. A little help will be greatly appreciated!

"He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary" Isaiah 40:29-31

You can do this. DRB13_1 had great ideas. Small accomplishments = BIG results. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I too struggle in this area but when I consume my water I eat considerably less because I'm full of water. I also eat a lot less if I eat within a 30-60 minutes after my workout. As your background says never stop praying and always believe... and be obedient. Don't quit, you got this.

keep at it! have your measuring cups and spoons right where you can use them for every meal. have ONE serving according to the label at a time before seeing if you are physically hungry for more. BEFORE you eat, rate yourself on the hunger scale and STOP eating before you feel full.
Most of all, give yourself credit for how far you have come. Keep a journal and look back at it regularly to notice the improvements. Congratulate yourself for the small but lasting changes.
When I first started SP I was regularly binging on candy. Now, I rarely even buy candy. It's all a process.
Just imagine a path. When you walk it daily, it becomes more clear through the grass and more defined. Habits are like that. The more you do them, the easier it is to follow them. You are on the right track.

emoticon You can do it!! Each day is a new day to start again. Have you ever tried to drink some water when you feel hungry to help fill you up? Sounds crazy, but I do it and it really does help. Another thing for me is to chew some gum when I get the urge to eat or eat when I know I'm not really hungry! Keep working towards your goals, you will get past all the hurdles that get in your way! emoticon emoticon

I find some days are better than others. Taking one day at a time is all you can do & when you don't feel like it, you've got to PUSH! It will be well worth it in the end.

God bless,

Dee

I know how hard it is - I'm embarrassed (to myself more than to other Sparkers) at how many times I've lost and gained but I find that reading as many inspirational blogs and boards as I can - and there are MANY - is really helpful. There's always something that goes to my heart and makes me think in a different way. I also make a special effort when I'm trying to get back on track to weigh and measure all my portions - it's so easy to 'guess' and lose sight of the fact that I'm eating more than I think I am.

Good luck !

I know and understand the feeling. I just try and take it one day at a time, and plan out what i'm going to eat for the day. I've also invested in measuring cups and spoons; I know that's WAY more creamer than 2 tablespoons that I be putting in my coffee! LOL! emoticon emoticon !!

You can do it. Take it one day at a time, God will see you through. This journey is not easy but it is worth it. emoticon
