Wearing A Girdle

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

We had girls day out this past weekend and for the first time in a long time I wore skinny jeans with a form fitting shirt. Jeans from the juniors department and shirt a size 12 from New York and Company. Halfway through the day my friend turned to me and said, "Are you wearing a girdle?"
Some people would have been offended by this question but it made my day! I have been working on my core with pilates and P90X ab ripper. The whole time telling myself I am tightening my core muscles like a girdle. So just to dig up a compliment I asked her why did she ask me that. Her response, "Your stomach just looks so flat." At that point I proudly told her NO... I was not wearing a girdle.
I just sat down today and counted that I have dropped 6 dress sizes and 10 inches off my waist. 45 lbs with spark people but 53 lbs all together. 40 more lbs to go! I am past the halfway point in my weight loss journey. Also I only want to drop 4 more sizes.
Comparing where I have to go with how far I have come makes me feel a whole lot better. My birthday is Nov. 5th and I at least want to be ten pounds within my goal weight. At goal by Christmas. I figure those are the best gifts I can give myself this year.
I am happy to report though that I will continue to focus on my core and increase my running distance. I am an entirely new person with the help of sparkpeople and God. It feels good to know that I am making positive decisions for my health.
