Its been a week. I have been focusing on drinking a minimum of 1/2 gal a day of fluids. I add one bag of tea to the half gallon so that I'm not getting a huge amount of caff., but am getting a little bit of flavor. Or I use decaf tea. This has been very helpful in getting my plateau broken. :-) I'm now back in the loss track and creeping down toward onederland. About one pound more and I will have arrived! I ate two very small pieces of french bread a week ago and have been paying a huge price in my blood sugars. Very unstable right now and higher than I am happy about. So back to that austerity program. I am eating all of the veggies I want to and a few nibbles on raspberries (8-10 a day) and meats/eggs etc. Basically following the Bernstein program as it seems to make the most sense for me. I am enjoying it. I'm working on varying my meats a bit and trying to include a big variety of veggies. There really aren't veggies on my no-no list, however, there are some on my moderate list. I rarely eat the starchy veggies and potatoes really spike me so those are eaten in very limited amounts. The days of eating a baked potato *loaded* are in the past. At most its an ounce of spud and that just isn't enuf to satisfy so not done much. This Way Of Eating is becoming second nature.
I expect I'll break into Oneder land either this week or next. I go on a vacation to the summer *house* my fifth wheel, for a month, and am going to continue eating on program. The nice thing will be spending time on my own, away from the issues at home. I so enjoy the high sierras and nature at 7000 feet. Will hopefully regenerate my mental state.
