Hi SparkFriends! I've been enjoying summer and getting lots of things done, but I do miss checking in with everyone. Hope you're all doing well!
I've been having some trouble with caring about my food intake for the last few days, and started having those "why bother" thoughts once again. I realized that I wasn't doing my daily accomplishments logging. So I went back into that blog and added my accomplishments - I can't believe I let so much time go by! I actually missed 10 days in a row. No wonder I wasn't feeling it. That really seems to help!
So I thought I'd take stock of my July goals, too, since July is almost over. How have I been doing?
Goal 1: Keep up with my homework by doing 30+ min a day.
I've been keeping up with the assignments ok, but have been missing out on the reading each day. As a result, I'm five chapters behind and there's an exam on Thursday. I know what I'm going to be doing over the next three days, and it's unfortunately NOT exercise.
Goal 2: Do my tri training sessions.
See Goal 1. My schedule is so tight that any slacking leads to an avalanche of misses. Since making my bold statement of not missing any sessions, I've actually only completed five out of the eighteen scheduled. And now that I'm behind on my reading, I will miss more. It's too much, I'm overloaded, and something needs to go. I can't give up working, and school takes second place. So, when push comes to shove, exercise goes away. Too bad all that pushing and shoving is mental and doesn't actually burn calories...
Goal 3: Stay in range at least 90% of the month.
I'm not going to reach this goal, but boy am I close. This is probably the best I've ever done on staying in range, so no whining here!! If I can hold on and finish the month out in range, I'll have hit 17 of the 20 days that I was targeting. I'll take it.
Goal 4: Plant the flowers I bought in spring.
Not yet, but they are still pretty much alive. The drought makes planting a little tough. I need a jackhammer to get through the soil!
