Missed sending you all a joke yesterday! Don't even remember if I spinned the wheel. Went on a Jet boat cruise up the Willamette [will a' met] and Columbia Rivers, and through the locks at the Bonneville Dam. A native Oregonian and this is the first time I've got to do that. Pretty impressive. Have been down the Columbia to Astoria just last May. Love the water!

A photo of beacon rock on the Washington side. The area behind the rock used to belong to my grandfather and his four brothers. It was homesteaded by a cousin of Patrick Henry's...some time ago, you know! They sold it in the '50s to the National Forest. I have lots of roots here in the Northwest!

I, too, live in Oregon and have thoroughly enjoyed the various waters.

Lucky you!!! I've lived here in Oregon most of my 74 years (around Eugene) and that's something I've never done and have always thought I'd like to do it... I've driven up through the gorge many times - well, as far as Hood River usually and love it, it's so beautiful up there - when the weather is good. Am going up that way again in October, if not before, to the Harvest Fest in HR... That's always fun!

I'm glad you had a really good day. We have been past the dam (and over it) several times, but never went through the locks. You have had a memorable experience.
