We recently told you about Angela (4A-HEALTHY-BMI), the amazing SparkPeople member who was scheduled to appear on the "Today" show on Monday (July 23) as the newest inductee of the Joy Fit Club. She had a great appearance and made everyone at SparkPeople so proud. For those who missed the story, here is a link to the video so you can watch it yourself.

Great job, Angela, and congrats on your amazing success. Please leave a note of congratulations below for Angela. Thanks for Spreading the Spark on national TV! WOO-HOO!
Such a great story!! And she' got it right this time because she knows how easy it is to put back on lost weight - that this is a lifetime journey - very well done!!
Such a great reminder of how this is a lifestyle. Caught myself slipping back up after an injury this past winter. Even in maintenance the "program" never ends. Glad it's still free, 'cuz I'll be Sparkin' for life!
I did the same thing. 18 years ago I lost about 80lbs, then slowly put back on plus more. Perhaps if I had kept up the exercise I could have been successful in keeping it off.
You have done a fabulous job!!! Your story inspires me tremendously!
I have faith that you will maintain your beautiful body now at this lovely new weight!! You are lookin' good, girl!!! I am so proud of you! Now, I know we don't know each other, but seeing another SPark member & human being have this great measure of success, makes me beam from ear to ear!! And, it reinforces in me that I can do it, too. Only 55 pounds to go for me. I know I can lose it and I know you can maintain your loss as well!!
I've been working with 4A-HEALTHY-BMI on the 'At Goal and Maintaining' team and can personally attest to what an awesome and inspiring person she is. Not only is she committed to her own personal goals, but she's also making a huge effort to help others--really a Herculean effort considering how small the maintainers community is. We're trying to create a space where maintainers can go for consistent support, whether they're staying on track or are having difficulties and are slipping. There's tons of information out there about how to lose weight, but so very little about how to maintain and, as I'm sure many Sparkers can attest, that leads to most people regaining the weight they've worked so hard to take off. We want to work to help change the very bleak statistics that say up to 95% (or more) of people who reach their goal will regain the weight. SparkPeople offers a great environment with lots of support for people who are losing weight and we want to offer the same level of support and resources to those who are maintaining. Many of us maintainers know how frustrating it is to work so hard to lose weight only to gain it all back again, but it doesn't have to be that way. With support from our members and from SparkPeople, we CAN make maintenance just a bit less daunting and turn those statistics around.
wow that is truly an inspiring video. I am turning the corner and I am not looking back on my weoght loss journey. I am learning baby steps will get me to my goal.
Thank you, I love how intuitive your nutrition tracking tools are. I have lost 6lbs in less than two weeks, of my 12lb goal. I am telling everyone who asks to sign up for spark people.com
