The heat and summer have been a bit of a downer for getting outside for fitness but the garden is loving it! Getting lots of fresh cantelope and the watermelon is coming along, tomatoes and peppers are coming on strong so we will have lots of fresh canned salsa and tomatoes for the winter chili season.
The good news on the fitness side is I have been getting back on track with our updated fitness centers and trainers at work. This week is Fun Fitness Week with open house and drawings for prizes and challenges for extra entries. I hope to win the Ipad but either way it is a great improvement. The Zumba classes they have added are really fun and a great workout and they are also adding some Yoga classes. I did a fitness assessment last week and am using that to set some goals. My strength and flexability tested pretty good but still struggling with the aerobic endurance and the BMI issues. I think my biggest problem is I am just too short!!!
With the new classes available at the different facilities I am trying to get back to working out everyday and have been able to drop 1-2 pounds in the last couple of weeks so am looking to continue on that trend and get back to where I was last year and hopefully get to my goal at some point in the next year. My eating is the biggest obstacle so I am trying to track that more consistantly and appreciate the challenges and hints from my teams to encourage me to follow the right path.
