Bon jour!

We had a really nice time in Quebec. The city is just beautiful and looks so European. We stayed at the Chateau Frontenac which put us in the heart of the old city.

It was extremely hot there...we were hoping for cooler weather (it is Canada, after all), but that was not meant to be. The little streets and shops were very crowded :)

We went on a riverboat ride up the St. Lawrence river, which was really nice. Also took a bus tour of the countryside, went to a small island in the river (with beautiful little Quebec-style houses and no commercial areas at all), and Montmerency Falls. Hard to tell from this picture, but the falls are taller (not wider, obviously) than Niagra Falls! The picture was taken from the gondola heading up to the top where the falls originate.

It was also fun to take the funiculaire (a sort of sideways elevator) down to the lower part of the city. $2 Canadian each way!

Saw a beautiful church, St. Anne de Beaupre, where people looking for health miracles would walk up the steps on their knees, hoping to be healed.

Had a great time on the last night in an Italian restaurant. The accordian player was lots of fun and got us to sing along with him!
