Finished another yard project till fall and more will be done.

Sunday, July 22, 2012

I have finally finished under the willow tree. There was a really annoying tree root that the chainsaw friend could not get near to do anything with.
Today i stubbed my toe on it and decided it had to be removed and removed it was!. Done by you know who-Just me, myself and I. If something jumps up from the earth and bites me I will go on the defensive.
I got out my reciprocal saw, I say mine now since I am the one that is wearing it out. I discovered I could find the underground roots and cut through those roots one by one .
It was a long tedious job but when I decide on something it has to get done.
I got the entire thing out, my hands are really annoyed with me but that' s their problem. My eyes are happy with what I see and DH and my neighbours were surprised.
WAS I !!!!!
No way after all I am NORAS PAT and my Mam would have done it had she still been here.
I shall follow in her footsteps. If it's to be done I will do it.
Pat in Maine, very happy tired and sore but that sore will go away my good reciprocal saw is a keeper.

Good job, sometimes the only way to get it done is to do it yourself! But, rememb er not to overdo things. Take a break once in a while.

Nice job! Roots can be the devil themselves. My preferred way is with a mattock (it's like a big axe, with one pointy end and one flt end for prying) and a big pair of loppers - the kind that have gear rather than just a scissor action - to cut the root. It's still a bear of a job sometimes though. Good for you for sticking to it!!

Pat, I believe the same thing. I'd rather do a chore myself than have someone else there that has no interest in the doing and therefore complains a lot. There is a "peace in the heart" when a job is completed all by yourself. Here's to the doers of the world!! emoticon
