Oh happy day!

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Yesterday was a happy day. I finally returned to running. What I hadn't mentioned here at all, was that I was quite scared to go running on my own. I was afraid of taking a wrong step and damaging my ankle. So yesterday while camping, my friend and I went for a slow jog around the campground at Charleston Lake. It was lovely to be back out there, pounding the pavement. There was no pain at all and this morning there was no swelling or stiffness. I plan on going for a run tomorrow morning...on my usual route along the river. :)

I also have something exciting developing on the job front. Last Thursday, I had an interview at a restaurant called Fat Tuesdays. While the manager was really impressed by my attitude and determination and he thought my resume was really good, he just didn't think I had the experience for the position they were looking to fill. He then proceeded to give me a lead about a Prep Cook position at another restaurant. I dropped off my resume there and figured I'd follow up on Monday, once I'd gotten home from camping. Well, at 10:15 Friday morning, I got a call from the Chef - he wanted to meet with me and discuss whether or not I wanted to come work for him. I have a meeting with the Chef at Steak tomorrow evening at 5pm...and I'm pretty sure I'm walking out of there with a job. :D
