Help! God has given me a job! :)

Hi Everyone~
I have taken on a task, at God's urging, and could use some help. My church is a small and fairly young church, we are getting ready to celebrate our 7th anniversary. Up till now, we have one women's Bible Study and we have a Lady's Tea once a year. Other than that, we do not really have a women' ministry. God has been leading me to encourage the women of our church, and now I feel like He wants me to do more. So, I am working on creating a real women's ministry. God has given me some great ideas, and some of the ladies have shared ideas and requests... but in order to create an amazing Women's Ministry, I am asking friends what their church's have to offer. And what do you wish your church offered? We have a lot of great women with true servant hearts... but we also have a lot of women who could use some encouragement and lifting up. We need to build some relationships and I want to serve the women of my church. So, what I am asking for is prayers and ideas. Pray that I follow God's lead, and ideas that work (or don't) in other churchs. I would really appreciate any feedback you can offer and I will be happy to share what God leads me to do as well. Thank you so much for your help.
In His grip,

My mom's church did an awesome thing - they had the older women teach the younger women how to cook! No seriously, they mentored them in cooking, sewing, etc - it was very successful!

I'm not really sure how to answer because I am an IFB and I can tell you that there are ladies only conferences. Women are not normally allowed to speak except for women only so a few of us get together and have a speaker. It is theme based and not out of what we are allowed but one they showed how to make butter in a mason jar and spoke on wifely matters. Little gift bags went to the ladies. Any donations are taken up for ministry purposes. To be clear though there is no governing body in our churches and our missionaries are personally known. Another thing is getting together to send encouragement cards to missionaries and their families. We kept a list of birthdays and anniversries of them and remember them. Gift baskets. Visitations are the most important. Men do street preaching; however, the women can go visit other women and encourage them with conversation and the Word. Nursing homes need private visitors willing to help too. Hope this helps some. Nursing homes have a great need for lap quilts (crib size), shawls and afghans too. My husband had a ministry for a long time before we moved from a church and in one nursing home it was so cold they needed a covering for their laps and shoulders. philippians 4:4

I love it when God sends me messages like that! I am also looking into starting a Bible study, and I'm not sure what/how to do it... I'll ask around tomorrow and try to get back to ya!
