I Updated My Book Preview - What Do You Think?

Saturday, July 21, 2012

I have been out of commission for quite a while because of a knee injury, but something good did come out of it. As many of you know, I was writing a book about butterflies. The injury allowed me to spend a lot of time writing and that was a good thing. I had no idea that I knew so much about butterflies. Vince took the pictures and we were able to get some amazing shots of butterflies emerging from their chrysalises. My heart will break when we have to move and I will no longer to be able to raise these beautiful creatures. I have included the link that should let you preview the book.

My knee is about 80% healed and I have started walking again. I am going to start slowly and build back up to a jog. The down side is that, with no exercise, I need SparkPeople. I am up to 170 and that is almost as much as I weighed before I ever started Sparks four years ago. All of this is behind me and I am ready to get back on track. I have been MIA far too long!

My new book is hot off the presses at Blurb! Take a sneak peek.

Welcome back and emoticon for finishing the book! That's great!

I was knocked for a loop some years back when I wrenched my knee in a fall. It was demoralizing not being able to exercise much. I was elated when I realized that I could still run! You'd think that given that good shock, I'd have never quit running. But like often happens, I started taking things for granted. Now I'm back again on SP and re-doing C25K. This time I want to have the resolve to finish it AND to continue running for the rest of my life!

I've not had injury problems when I was doing sports, the only injuries I've had were when I was just doing ordinary things. I had a friend in school who joked she could fall walking on a level sidewalk (she was our school ballerina). Now I sometimes feel like that -- and I'm NOT a ballerina. emoticon

Wonderful that your knee is so much better! We are looking forward to having you back. emoticon

emoticon OMGosh I'm so happy for you finishing your book!! The pictures are beautiful, Vince did a great job! How do I get an autographed copy?

I think you needed an injury serious enough to get you to finish your book. Now it's back to your health. I'm happy to hear your knee is at 80% without surgery, that's fantastic! The weight will come off, most likely not as fast since you have to build up your running again. This means you have to be extra diligent with your food. Slow and steady wins the race...
