Weight Did Not Move...

Friday, July 20, 2012

Well I knew this time would come. Not everyone's journey to health has a weight loss everyweek. At today's weigh in I stayed the same as last week. No I do not blame the milk shake that attacked me from out of nowhere in an earlier blog. I ate in my Spark range each day, and have exercised 6 of the 7 days. This is simply a pause for my body to adapt to changes. It is a bit easier for me to have a healthier attitude about nothing showing up on the scale because as I sit at my desk typing I'm wearing a shirt and slacks that did not fit a month and a half ago. Yesterday I took a work related walk that I could not have taken two months ago. Tonight I'm going to record my measuremnts and compare them to last month. I'm certain my waist is smaller, since I can wear and sit down comfortably in these slacks. Perhaps my weight will move down next week, but then again perhaps not. I'm still going to be healthy this week and let the chips fall where they may. Well as long as the chips don't fall into my mouth.

Great outlook and great balance. Glad you're continuing to move forward - it's sooooo important that we remind ourselves over and over about the NSVs ... fitting into clothing that was just sitting in the closet not too long ago is fabulous. Congrats on that progress - no small feat!

Great attitude! Sometimes your body just needs to take a breath or two and catch up with the changes. Keep pushing, it will happen.

Yes, yes, yes love your additude. The scale is just a number, how you look, how you feel and how your clothes fit is the TRUE test! Go you!

I love your attitude! It is indeed about sooo much more than the scale!

As always, thanks for the advice you left on my blog!

Ditto the comments on the great attitude! This is something I need to keep in mind as I continue on my journey, so the reminders from others on the same path are very helpful.

And being in a smaller shirt and pants is definitely cause for celebration!

That was week 2 for me. You just have to look at all the non scale victories (or as SP calls them, NSV)

Good luck with the measurements! :)

I find that often the tape measure (or pair of trousers) is a much better gauge of progress than the scale. Weight can fluctuate due to so many factors: too much salt, not enough water, not enough fibre, water retention in the muscles from working out, muscle gain, etc. Whereas, fitting into trousers that you couldn't wear a month ago is a clear indicator. Keep up the good work.

Good outlook. Everyone will have a week here and there where the number doesn't budge. Your positive attitude and knowing this will keep you going! Keep up the great work!

Don't let the non weight loss get you down. As you said you are feeling good and wearing clothes you couldn't wear before. I think I am finally starting to realize that it's not all about that number on the scale. It will move eventually. Keep up the good work and keep on smiling. Have a great weekend!
