I have been very flat out this last month or so, children ill, school hols in there, my sister visiting with her children from interstate, my mother having her series of cancer treatments. Two sons having birthdays, too many days shopping, oh my, shopping!
So I promised to talk about my tech (weightloss related). I purchased a Suunto M1, which is effectively a belt and watch which moniters my heart rate and tells me how many calories I'm actually burning and handy things like my rest rate and how long it takes me to get back to my rest rate etc. Of course I've been using it A LOT! I found my rest rate to be about 60! I also realised I mentioned it before but I'm only burning the calories a person half my weight should be. Soooo unfair, but WOW, look at my amazing body go!! I got from zero to here in 6 months. I know I try to keep my level at just uncomfortable, so I'm pushing myself all the time so I don't plateau. Which of course means my food trackers are not compatible here it seems. So, I've been eating intuitively, which has led me to juicing and so forth.
I also brought myself a beautiful set of 5 fingered shoes for jogging. I find jogging on grass, not concrete, is acheivable for me with these lovely shoes. Eventually I would love to graduate to real bare foot jogging because that's just so natural. My feet are like a guys foot, apparently, I have broad, strong athletes feet, in the past I've hated my feet, I couldn't fit into women's shoes because they were too narrow etc, but now I get that they are strong healthy things and I can appreciate their non-aesthetic beauty. Honestly, I did find a jogger shoe that was created for Kathy Freeman's feet (heard of her? Gold Medal sprinter Aboriginal woman from Oz?), those fit me perfectly, but they no longer make those :( I am of Aboriginal descent, maybe there's something to that!
I also invested in an X-Box, haha, I know, that sounds so contradictory! But honestly, I've only used it for fitness type activities, really! Not so the rest of the household, particularly the children who love Mindcraft atm. But I've got Zumba Rush, cannot believe how fantastic it is to lose the belt/controller (which kept dropping out or rubbing on skin to create blisters etc). It also shows me how my movements look, and I think it is great to do it that way. I have been able to self-correct.
Non techy improvements are: strap on weights of 1 kilo increments, which are actually too heavy for me, but I can't do it without my .5 kg ones (too easy). Zumba, that is! I am going to use them as weight training instead. I am in the future going to get hand weights, and I already have a weight bar with weights (actually, it's my partners, but he doesn't care if I use it lol).
I am currently trying to choose between a thermomix and a thermochef, I am going to grind my own flours, make all of my own sauces, curries, breads, pizzas, grind my own spice, grate my own cheese, use it to cook just about everything (it can't roast/bake, but I have an airfrier of those), make juices etc. So I would really love any opinions, any opinions at all, as to what people think of either or both if they know about them.
Hope everyone has been well, and getting healthy in my absence ;)
