Endless Cycle

I come into work early and spend the time on Spark, reading blogs, etc. I get so motivated and stay that way during the day. "When I get home, I'm getting started!" Then I get home, get dinner, and am ready to crash. The next morning, I'm not in the mood to fix nutritious food to take to work, so I stop on the way and get coke and other junk. I get to work, get on Spark and get motivated again! But nothing has changed! I realize that what I need to do is get on Spark when I get home, too, to get me motivated then. And I'll be in a better position to plan for the next day. And I can start using the Spark app. There are so many aspects of Spark out there which will help me - I just need to take advantage of them and stop this cycle.

    Perhaps you can take a Saturday or Sunday to plan your week--what to cook, how to get maybe even 10 minutes of exercise into each day, etc. Because for me, at least at first, planning was crucial.

At any rate, whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of success in your journey.

  Planning is a key part to our success, however it takes time to get into the swing of it. Try to keep a healthy snack in the car to avoid those stops and keep portioned out things readily available. I keep a container with fiber bars and 100 cal snacks in my kitchen and portioned out things like cereal. Baggies are out friend. If you just take 1 day to portion out things then your choices will become easier. It works best for me to do it on my shopping day. I keep all of my things in clear containers in the pantry so I know at a glance what I have.

    It's good that you are on SP! Don't be so hard on yourself - they say it takes 30 days to form a habit, whether good or bad. Perhaps you should give yourself some sort of schedule so that you can stay focused better. The mobile app is sooo useful for me! It has helped me keep track of my water intake and leaves me with no excuses not to record what I eat, either. It's great!
