Kind of a funky feel

The wind has picked up here a bit so we haven't paddled the last two days. I added some extra minutes to the elliptical, but I probably should've done some strength training. Tomorrow is a weigh in day and I'm not feeling it for some reason. As a part of the Summer 5% Challenge this week we are monitoring our fiber and I just can't seem to hit it. So I added Fiber Choice to my diet and even with just two or three tablets a day I'm feeling kind of bloated. argh This morning I made a new smoothie recipe that called for spinach. I thought I was in the clear as I was throwing things in the blender (kiwi, pineapple, oj, greek yogurt, chia seed....) but DH caught me and one look at the spinach was a complete turn-off for him. He managed to drink it without too many complaints, but I guess I won't be getting any kind of green smoothie by him ever again!

I'm approaching 6 months here, and if we are to believe that losing an average of 0.5 - 1 lbs a week is the way to go, then I am on track at least. Somehow when I started I had imagined that I would lose 40 lbs by the start of the new school year, not 25 (or hopefully closer to 30 by the end of August). Chris Isaak is on the stereo singing to me and reminding me that "Things Go Wrong" and to get over it. We're eating right, watching our portions. Now I would just like a bit of cooperation from the scale, thank you very much.

I took off like a whole week...........of everything. Staying away from the scale emoticon

Your so cool. Plan a head about your exercise for when school begins.........

How's the lesson plan coming?

    Understand how your feeling. Not feeling it either this summer. It's hot and humid which is so not Idaho weather; at least the humid part. And not normally this warm. Hope things go more smoothly. emoticon

    You got this, girl!! Just keep on keeping on!! I have a hard time with fiber too - I hate to feel bloated.
Even if you don't make 40lbs by the start of school - look how far you have come. You are doing great!!

    You really ARE making progress. You are making healthier choices in eating, exercising more - and feeling better.

As you get closer to that goal, it seems more and more difficult to actually get there - and the weight just seems to be stubborn and not come off. At this time, you sound frustrated and, I can understand why, however, now is the time to try your best to stay focused and keep your eye on the prize. I wanted to be at goal a long time ago - and I actually got there and got lazy and gained again ... not much - but now my goal seem a bit in the distance.

Please just stay focused and do what you are doing. Reach out to Sparkfriends for support - they can be a real source of inspiration, if you let them. Be strong - you can do this. Don't worry so much about the weigh-in number ... it's just a number, after all. Ask yourself ... do you feel better? Do you look better? Are you STILL closer to your goal than you were at the beginning of this journey? Have you learned anything along the way? Have you made some Sparkfriends? All of these things are important - sometimes even more important than the number on the scale.

Happy weigh-in for the challenge - remember ... participating helps also - no matter what the scale says.

    You really are making such great progress, but I can totally relate to a desire to see it in the numbers. Hang in there because slow progress is so much better than no progress, and actually better than sudden drops that don't hang around! And let me give you an "Amen!" on the whole fiber thing! When I see how much fiber some of the team members post, I am certain that my body would just become an explosive if I tried to do that! emoticon emoticon The other day I saw a blog from a team member entitled' "Just popping by to check in" and I thought it said "Just pooping by..." LOL....and that is about how I feel this week! Keep up all the great work! emoticon

    I am too embarrassed to even say what I've lsot and in how long!! You are doing great! The slwoer it comes off, the longer it stays off! What is paddling? I've been meaning to ask. Keep up the strong and steady work!!

    Keep going strong 0.5-1 a week is an accomplishment! Everyone metabloizes differently. Also - the more weight one has (such as I did) the faster it usually drops at first. Slow and steady! Hang in there. You are doing great and an amazing SP buddy! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I hear ya! I'm approaching 5 months and I was hoping for more than 27 lbs. at that point. Being out of town for the last few days and it's been so unbearably hot with no air conditioning at work it just drains me when I get home I just can't seem to get the energy. Getting back to tracking all foods, activities and logging in for some updates is helping but I'm looking forward to Saturday for an early am workout when it's cooler. We'll stay the course, you and I, and knock off a couple more lbs OR inches before school starts for you and my 50th b-day in Sept. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Hitting my fiber goal is the worst! I'm not doing that challenge, but I have a lot of problems hitting that - need to work on it!.

Yes, I thought I'd be further too. It is a disappointing feeling of course, and I'm sure you know and don't need me to say it but of course...25 is better than 0! You are doing GREAT! Also, do you know how many people don't even log on a second time, let alone stay with it for 6 months? You are doing awesome :)
