Today I officially hit my weight loss goal of 140lbs. I had a visit to the doctor to discuss weight/fat loss and get his feedback on my current workout schedule and daily carb/fat/protein ratios. After the visit, I went for a 4-mile training run and when I weighed myself after, I was at my goal weight. So now it's time to set a new goal :)
My new goal is to lower my body fat % to 20 or less, which would correspond to a body weight of about 130 or less. Doc was totally on board with my new goals and workout schedule but wants me to increase my protein intake while slightly decreasing my carb intake (depending on needed fuel for 2-3 hours of workouts I'm doing every day). My carbs come from whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and I'm training for a half marathon, so I'm not going to sweat the carb numbers too much. But increasing protein should help with the strength training I'm doing.
I'm really excited to hit this weight goal and head into new challenges with my weight and body fat. I've seen great improvement in my running efficiency already so I expect that to continue improving as I progress. Gotta keep moving forward :)
