What am I doing

I recently started back on my weight loss journey. Have been really good however am I going crazy. Everytime I have to eat food or fruit - I question myself . "do you know how many calories it has", "Will I be able to work it off", "shd I be eating it". I go to SP nutrition page and feed in my meal before I eat.

Am I overdoing it. I dont know but am realising that I never looked at portion sizes before. I ate what I wanted and how much I wanted. It is difficult to retrain yourself.

    That's how I'm doing it. I've been on this site for years but have often fallen away, stop logging, eat what I want and soon gain weight.
    I find logging my calories keeps me honest... it helps me to be mindful of what I'm putting in my body because half the issue is that I don't really think about what I'm eating, I just eat. I don't pay attention to the calories, it just goes in; especially when I'm hungry.
    I've taken to logging my food in the day before now. It helps to plan my meals ahead and I know if I can eat something or not. Having a plan really helps me to avoid eating stuff I shouldn't be eating. Logging ahead helps me to know where I'm at calorie wise and whether I can afford to splurge if a situation arises. If not, I avoid any splurges knowing it would put me over my limit.
    Now I"m back and finding it easier to stay on track.

    You've definitely got the right idea about planning ahead and portion size... it's all important, and doing the measuring in advance takes a lot of the worry out of the mix!...

    I think that is great. I log what I plan to eat the day before and stick to it. Then I know it is okay for the day. If something happens to change it I try to log it as soon as I can. It helps keep me on track.

    I think you're OK --- if you're still doing that a year from now that's one thing. But by then you'll be able to look at a plate and judge the calories! Wish I had that passion.

    I was questioning myself today on whether I should do just that thing. I believe this is a great idea. I mean these are tools for us to use so why not use them for our good. I say let's go for it!!! emoticon
