Paleo with Cravings: Protein Shakes or PMS?

Trying to determine if cravings last week were related to PMS, Protein Shakes, or both! Hmm... Guess I'll have to experiment this week with a protein shake for breakfast and see if I end up having cravings for the rest of the day... But not today! Breakfast was beef with peppers and cucumbers....


There are only 4 sugars in the shake - but as a Paleo, to me they taste every bit as sweet as a fast food milk shake!

Any other people out there who try to avoid sugar/sweetners find the "sweet" taste of protein meal replacement shakes throw you into cravings?

    I recently tried someone's recipe for a smoothie that actually did fill me up, as she claimed it would. But usually a smoothie would leave me hungry.

    I don't drink shakes. I live on fiber one bars for meal replacement.

    For me, it's not the sweet taste that does it. I generally use fruit only as sweetening. There's just something about a liquid meal, however substantial, that doesn't say "I've had a whole meal."
