Down the rabbit hole...

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

I’m almost all the way back up to my starting weight when I first started trying to lose weight. Ugh. Time to stop being a lazy pig and get back into making myself HEALTHY.

I backed off trying so hard to lose weight when I found myself crouched over a toilet at the gym with my fingers in my mouth, trying to make myself throw up the burger and fries I’d just eaten. Yeah. So not good. Problem is, I went COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION and stopped exercising completely and have eaten complete CRAP for the past several months.

Is anyone surprised that I feel like garbage every day? I’m not. After all, you are what you eat.

So TODAY, I am getting back on track.

Starting weight: 220

Goal: 180 (for now – once I hit 180 I’ll reassess)

This is going to have to be slow, HEALTHY going, as I’m also trying to get pregnant.

For starters, I’m going to aim for 1300-1500 calories a day. Did some research that says when pregnant and trying to lose weight, I should eat about 1800 calories a day. I can do that, and will switch to that once there is a bun in the ol’ oven.

Also to start: 30 minutes of exercise a day, every day. That’s a two mile walk. That’s NOTHIN’, and if I have time to watch a whole season of Vampire Diaries in a week, or to read two books a day, then I most certainly have time to walk two miles or do a dance-aerobics video.

Focuses:
1300-1500 calories a day
30 minutes of exercise daily
NO MORE SODA
Eat 5-7 servings of fruits/veg daily
Meatless before dinnertime (otherwise I just get burgers and fries from the caf)

YAAAAAY! I am in the same boat as you! Well, it's not a lovely boat to be in but it's great to have companions!

You're trying to have a baby! That's a great motivator! If you learn how to be healthy then you can teach the baby to be healthy and then the WORLD!...or somethin like that.

I am so glad you did take the time to reassess and reach the healthy conclusion--bulemia is SO terrible for you and your body...I'm so glad you didn't go there!!

Congrats on your decision to try for a baby--I hope that everything works out well, that you have a happy and healthy pregnancy, and a happy and healthy baby.

You can do this the healthy way--you very clearly already know that! You're going to do great!
(BTW as far as soda goes: I found that sparkling water (Target brand is good) will get me through a craving...no sodium, no calories, and some of them even have added vitamins... It turned out to be a good way for me to bridge the gap!)

Hey honey, I'm glad to see you back. I was wondering why you had left... While I know you would prefer to not have gained back the weight you worked so hard to lose before, it sounds like you needed this break from Spark and being so strict about your nutition.

This is a clean slate. What happened before isn't a part of now. We can do this together, you and all your sparkfriends :)

Don't call yourself a pig! The only thing stopping you from succeeding is the six inches between your ears. :)

I actually lost weight with my last two pregnancies because I was so sick, so I really can't blame my 3 kids on my weight gain. Well, not the pregnancies, but more the lifestyle.

You can do it. Try focusing on one thing at a time.
