I am loving the low carb lifestyle and I know this way of life is the only way I am going to reach my goal. But I have also learned that if I don't have a "cheat day" I will sometimes feel deprived and give in to random cravings. (my random cravings are the ones induced by friends, commercials, events, etc)
I used to have "cheat days" once per week (don't judge me! lol!) but since doing low carb, I find that I don't need them that often. In fact, it had been over a month since my last cheat meal at Red Lobster! So yesterday I decided that I was due.
Hubby was all excited because he thought we were going to go out and have a killer meal at a favorite restaurant. Imagine the look on his face when I told him I had decided to have an apple, Organic peanut butter and a bowl Steel Cut Oats for dinner.
Yep, not quite what he was anticipating, but to me it was the best cheat meal I have had in ages! And it totally wiped out my carb craving.
Today, I am looking forward to my 30 carbs (my usual daily intake) with no regrets about yesterdays feast! I think I have finally reached a new level of maturity when it comes to making healthy choices.
