Rest in peace, Ms. Cleo

Monday, July 16, 2012

DH and I made a few holiday cards with photos of our cats - the first is my car that became a convertible after Hurricane Marilyn, and I photoshopped Cleo and Callie into the car. The second is a Chanukah card, showing Cleo relaxing on a tallis bag and next to the chanukiah. (She was a very religious cat, LOL.)

Callie lived upstairs, and Cleo would go up and rip a screen to let Callie out, so that they could play. She was just that kind of loyal friend, LOL!

And of course, Cleo in her little tent box:

Cleo was the cat who brought in a baby snake, and apparently kept it as her pet - we found it days after we saw her carrying it around, the little snake was slithering down the hall heading to the kitchen and the bowl of kitty kibble.

Cleo was also the cat who got very used to staying in a hotel during a major hurricane - we did that a few times, and she'd get very relaxed and lounge on the king-sized bed between the two of us, enjoying the luxurious room and spacious bed.

She was a good cat, was with us for 16 years, and will be very much missed. May her memory always be a blessing to us.

Aww RIP Cleo! Sounds like your two kitties were good buddies. Speaking of religious cats, my cat went to church the other day (across the street) she has no idea she's Jewish.

The passing of a beloved pet is difficult. My thoughts are with you. How lucky the cat was to have you. You gave it a beautiful life.

I just read this, and I enjoyed your great tribute to a very curious cat named Cleo. Funny how they steal your heart when you least expect it. It's been 11 years since my big guy, Moritz died, and I still miss him! emoticon emoticon Kathryn

Meowmama is so sad and so sorry that you have lost your beloved Cleo. She sounds like a real character! She lived an adventurous life with you, full of fun and love and what else could a kitty want? Kitties bring such joy to our lives and are so easy to please. Rest in Peace Ms. Cleo and warm hugs to you. emoticon emoticon

Cleo looks a lot like my grey cat named Bug. He was 22 when he died and I still miss him. Hugs!

Okay, did people see a cat in a purple box for the third photo, or a smiling lady in grey sweats? I ended up with this stranger showing up! I think the spark photo links got confused, and I ended up with this smiling lady - she probably ended up with Cleo's photo! And no, that wasn't me!

Yes, she was lucky to have us as parents. And we were lucky to have her as our cat.
