Oh DEAR the UGLY TRUTH

Monday, July 16, 2012

Last week I had ONE Green Light Day! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon What happened? That is a very good question! It was not my exercise because I managed to keep that up - water aerobics 5 times last week. (Since I am being truthful my ST and my Pilates were not as good). Anyway it all had to do with stress and how I handle or in this case DID NOT handle it! I am not going to beat myself up because that will be counter productive! I will just move on. emoticon

Things to work on this week!
1. Maintaining calorie range and drink your water
2. Eat plenty of veggies
3. Do your ST 3 times a week and Pilates 3 times a week
4. Do water aerobics 4 times a week
5. Meditate Meditate Meditate

Clearly I need a plan for when I want to STRESS EAT!

1. Drink some water
2. Meditate
3. Keep the popcorn and pizza out of the house. Find another place for DH's oreos.
4. Spark instead of eat
5. A little more planning couldn't hurt and don't forget the garden!
6. If all else fails REMOVE yourself from the HOUSE! Some how it is harder to eat when you are outside or in the pool swimming!
emoticon

Stay tuned I am really hoping for the beginning of a GREEN LIGHT STREAK!

Wow! I love that plan for stress. I always love to look at your goals there is something there I can use all the time. The stress eating plan is one of the things. I am such a thief! Consider it stolen! emoticon I am staying tuned in for the green light streak! I need to have one this week also! Have a great week! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I like your red light, green light system. Good visual, but don't let it play with your emotions more than it should. Keep it in proportion. One bad thing in a good day may still be a good day. Are you losing weight and inches? Are you still coming in within your calorie range? Persistence, not perfection.

Measuring snacks into snack baggies might help. On Nutrisystem I have pizza and popcorn and cookies. It's not like diving head first into a steaming hot gooey cheesy pizza from the pizzeria, but it satisfies...and I dont' feel stuffed afterwards.
If it's head hunger instead of stomach hunger, removing yourself works well. Get busy doing something else that consumes your attention. Get up and move. Exercising can change the mood. Sparking helps. You've listed some good ideas.

How is your garden? Without rain, I've given up on growing anything. The roses are the only things doing well. I noticed they seem to do best in adverse weather, like tornadoes or drought!

I love your plan to avoid stress-eating and will happily use it as well! As for the oreos, I have my DH put them in the cabinet over the fridge. When I find myself getting a chair to sneak some, I realize how desperate I am...and then I put the chair back and get a water. Good luck!
