Groceries, today's outfit, and online shopping woes

Sunday, July 15, 2012

It's been too hot recently and I've been too lazy to go to the grocery store, so it's been difficult to eat healthy. But I finally went today and bought some ingredients to make this recipe for Summer Vegetable Crepes: www.eatingwell.com/recip
es/summer_vegetable_cr_pes
.html

I've made it before with cucumbers in place of zucchini, and they were great. :) One crepe is filling enough if you serve these with a side salad.

Cherries were on sale for $1.98/lb and blueberries were $1.33/pint, so I *had* to get those! And the usual bananas and [Braeburn] apples, so I've got a decent assortment of fruits for the week. :) At some point, I'll make split pea soup (with diced ham) in the slowcooker, and that should cover most of my meals for the rest of the week...

Until this weekend, when I travel to Spokane for a friend's wedding! This will be my third trip to the West Coast and my very first to the state of Washington!

Anyway, I decided that since the weather was nice, I would dress up for the day.

[Why does SP shrink images so much?!?!]

In other news, I bought this "Poplin Cargo Crop Pant" from Victoria's Secret (with a free shipping + 20% + $10 certificate):

The fit is *much* tighter than the Pencil Pant that I ordered in previous entries, even though the size is the same. I can only get it buttoned up on a day that I'm not bloated... and of course, the thigh area is a little baggy because my curves are in all the wrong places. Oh well.

That's all for now!

Ugh - which is why I avoid online shopping! How do people always seem to get it right?! I have no idea how to find stuff that fits!

Also - Would you be up for sharing that crockpot split pea recipe? I LOVE split pea soup! Never heard of a crockpot version but that is right up my (also lazy) alley!

Have fun at the wedding! LOVE that blue dress, it is definitely your color!

    LOVE that dress!

Raspberries are in season and cheap here in Texas. I just can't get enough of them!

Way to go getting your shopping done so you could be prepared for the week!!! Making soups is a great way to have extra meals that are both low cost but high in nutrients ;-) I blend extra veggies into my split pea soup. Very easy way to add more veggies than the boys can see lol.

When is the wedding you are going to? I live in Washington :-)! Not on the east side though :-/. Very cute dress! You look great in it. Those pants do look like they would be a better fit. I can totally relate to the not filling in pants thing. This is why I focus so much on building muscles. Especially in my legs. Always had super skinny legs and people pointing them out made me self conscious about it.

Enjoy the new pants and the yummy food you stocked up on ;-)!

the fact that you can fit anything from Victoria Secret tells me you are not needing to loose any lbs. LUCKY you, one day I will be a member who is there to only obtain recipes and make new friends. Right now, I have to add support for weight loss to this list. The dress is so nice, I dream that one day ........ aahhhh, one day ..............
emoticon ..... oh, yeah, it's only a dream ... I forgot for a moment there!
