We were offered free tix for the rodeo so we headed to the grounds again. Did a quick tour of the Indian Village and saw a Recycled Percussion show as well. We also decided to get standing room (cheap) tix for the chuckwagon races and the grandstand show.
Unfortunately, one of the horses suffered an aortic aneurysm or something of that sort, so one of the wagons went down and 3 horses didn't survive. The driver and an outrider were thrown but are all right. Rodeo is a dangerous sport with the cowboys and animals putting on a thrilling show. What amazing athletes.
The acrobatics, moto-cross, singing, dancing, dazzle, and fireworks of the grandstand show were spectacular. Home-town boy Paul Brandt was an utter joy. Singing along to his "Alberta Bound" just about made me cry!
