A lot of FUN coming up!

Friday, July 13, 2012

So, I'm still melting away here.. exercising is a challenge, but I just have to do it. Ramadan is just around the corner, so these days we'll go grocery shopping for the month so we don't have to do that during the hot days while fasting. I've planned for healthy meals, my husband agrees with me also that this year we'll skip the soda and the more unhealthy of the usual fried foods. I'll focus more on soups, salads & BBQ, although I will of course make some apple pie etc... I just have to continue to log carefully what I need, maybe not so much to not overeat, but to make sure I get my calories and nutrients. I want Ramadan to be about spirituality as it should be, and not thinking constantly about FOOD.

We're also hoping to go to Sweden at the end of Ramadan, and spend one month there.

So as you can see, I have (God willing) 2 months of AWESOME to look forward to, lol. Feels great!

Sounds a great two-month plan, WooHoo! Our family, especially my mom and I, plan to have light to medium meal when breaking fast so that we will not feel too sleepy for Terawih prayers at night :D

Have an excellent Ramadhan!

Happy Ramadan to you and your family. May your family be blessed during this HOLY season. Planning meals is a great way for me to control what I eat. Take care when fasting. I find that prayer and meditation is helping me through this. Sending you encouragement and well wishes!

It's great that you are planning ahead, because grocery shopping while fasting would be so hard! I'm glad that your hubby is on board with your healthy eating plans too! Sweden, wow, lucky you! I hope you get to go and enjoy yourself! Have a great day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

1st of all, Happy Ramadan, yes kinda early, but really Ramadan Mubarak to you, your family, to us, and all Ummah.
It is great to plan ahead and get all your grocery before it starts, and YAY that your husband agreed on the healthy options :))
God help us survive it in this heat, and InshAllah it will be one of the best spiritual Ramadans for all of us. Have a very blessed Friday :))
