Four Days of Dorm Life

I'm getting too old for this...
(Just kidding! I'll never be too old.)
Yesterday I returned from a four-day, three-night stay at UW-Milwaukee, where I took my middle school dance team for camp. Four days of dance technique, learning new choreography, and team bonding. Three nights of giggling, loud music, and screams of hilarity until two in the morning. (And this is the week that our Starfish team is pushing for at least 7 hours of sleep!)
It's worth it. My nine dancers made memories this week that will last a lifetime, and that's worth it every summer. Hey, I even joined in. I was the second-oldest coach, but I still got "my Jagger in check" with an intermediate level hip hop routine. The girls loved it! And it was the first time in years that I had the energy (and confidence) to learn a dance.
But dorm life? While it was entertaining to relive my college days, I am very much appreciating my bed, air-conditioning, hot water in the shower, my kids giggling and running rampant through the house, and snuggling with my husband every morning.
