Something awesome happened over the weekend. No, I didn't win the lottery or meet a great guy, or even lose weight. Nope. My scale was water damaged and doesn't work any more, so I decided to throw it away and not replace it. No more "tyranny of the scale" for me! I'm weighing myself on the extremely accurate scale at the gym from now on. Due to preferences about clothing and shoes while weighing myself, that will most likely only happen on days when I see my trainer. Which means I will only be weighing myself once a week, and it will happen on the same day of the week and about the same time.

I finally have an inarguable reason to do what I always knew I was "supposed to do."

And I'm not just saying this because the gym's scale said I lost two pounds since the last time I weighed myself. (Although that makes me seriously happy.)

(I'm not actually defenestrating my scale. I thought I would walk it out with the trash tonight.)

Congrats on your freedom from the scale.

It would have been more fun to defenestrate (had to google that word!) the scale or take a hammer to it. But then you have to clean up all the little pieces and that can be a pain! Congrats on the 2 lbs.
