So Busy!

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

I have been so busy here lately. And, then again, it seems that I get nothing done! My house is a mess, I have to finish planning three field trips and the beginning of the year. I love being a GS leader, but it is so much work! Thank God I only have one troop to do this year. I have four wonderful women to take over the Daisies and Brownies, I have the Juniors :) My sister is the financial and Cookie part of the Juniors, and hopefully I will have a third person to help us out (sisters are not supposed to run a troop by themselves).

Our next field trip is this Saturday. We are going to Tree Hill Nature Center. Hopefully all goes as planned, a hike and a quick picnic. Have to cut the trip short, we were just invited to a surprize birthday party for a friend's kids. The two girls' birthdays are a couple of weeks apart, and they usually have their parties together. Apparently, the girls have no idea they are having a party.

The following week, we are going to the Jacksonville Zoo. Picnic then walking the Zoo then playing in the Splash Park. The week after that we are going to Hanna Park for a "meet and greet" with all of the troops in our cluster. That's Saturday; Sunday I have my middle daughter's birthday party!

The next big trip after that will be to the Catty Shack Ranch. It's a sanctuary for pretty much whatever animal needs a home. Wild animal, that is. Hopefully, we can do a little service project for them, as well. Much closer than either the Zoo or Tree Hill, though those two are less than twenty minutes away as well.

We already have the first few badges chosen. The badges we chose are pretty much not optional. Not to us, anyway. GS Way and Simple Meals are two of them. The girls have to know what GS is about, and cook their own meals at camp. TeeHeeHee, the girls won't know what hit them! There were a couple of girls who balked at the idea of washing their own plate, wait 'til they realize they will have to cook for everyone AND clean up the ADULTS' dishes, as well :D Mrs. Tamika ain't gunna do it all! Teaching the girls to be more independent :)

Well, time to wash the dinner dishes. Hmmm...the kids are all in the bedroom wrestling and screaming, maybe they'll come finish them for me! LOL yeah, right!
