Since starting the diabetic 8 week challenge, I haven't lost much weight ...3 lbs. in three weeks (and none this week) but the changes are so much bigger than weight loss.
I went for my walk today. I've been playing the jogging game on my wii and walking 5 miles a week at a local park as well as walking the dog. Today, I went for my usual walk on my normal route. When I started walking a month and a half ago, the circuit took me 45 minutes with me walking what I thought at the time was a brisk pace. Today, the same route takes me 25 minutes.
Yesterday, my doctor let me know that we're stepping down my daytime insulin and will likely have it stopped before the end of the year (something they told me wouldn't happen a few months ago) and the diabetic educator asked if I'd be interested in talking to her group as an inspirational speaker.... Baby steps really can lead to huge changes!
