Inching Along

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

First I have to share with you the bake sale contribution that my dd and I whippped up for her 2nd grade class:

The eyes are put on with a tube of icing from the store and mini chocolate chips. Though, next time I will use little chocoate balls that are also sold in the candy/baking section.

As for me, I am still inching along. I have been fighting a bit of a cold this week, but am beginning to feel better. I just let myself get run down with all of the craziness that has been going on around here.

So glad so many of my friends were able to stop by my melon blog from last week. Many of you got it just right. I did not like the melon soup. The flavor of sweet and sour was good, but the melon got way too soft. Maybe if the soup was garnished with fresh melon, it would work better for me. None of the recipes are anything that I would have tried on my own, but they were surprisingly yummy and will all find a spot on our menu in the months to come.

Headed to bead. Gotta earn those points!

Sleep tight!
