Up earlier every day

I've set myself a goal to be getting up at 8am again. Since I moved, my schedule has been all sorts of crazy. I'm sure that part of it is because I have the summer off, another part is that my roommates are night people, and the third is that I have gotten into a bad habit.

I get so much more done when I get up in the mornings. Every day over the past week, I have gotten up half an hour earlier. This is not saying much, as I'm only up at 10am now. Yes, it got pretty bad. I like getting up before my roomies b/c I can get so much done. I am getting a good system in place. I feel I am able to accomplish that much more when I get up earlier.

My body also seems to function better when I get up at a decent time in the morning. Part of it is because I go to bed earlier. Call me crazy, but I really do feel I get better sleep if I'm sleeping before midnight.

In the next few days I should be able to be back to my old schedule.

    Often the day is more productive the earlier is person is up...but it is so hard to do it!

    I love that early is like 8am! I thought it would be like 5am and I was going to live vicariously through you. I keep thinking if I can be a morning person I could get an extra workout in but I cant wake up!!! Congrats on chaning the habbit

    I have been sleeping a bit...only to 8am since my boys are out for summer vacation. At least you are trying to get up earlier everyday so that is progress!! Keep up the good work!

    I HAVE FALLEN INTO THE SAME HABIT. I HAVE BLAMED IT ON THE HOT WEATHER. I TO FEEL BETTER UP BY 8 AM. HUBBY IS A LATE SLEEPIER ALSO SO THAT MAKES IT BAD. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Once school starts again, you're going to be happy that you have started to wake up earlier. And I agree that you can get so much done in the morning before others wake up. My "roommates" (=kids and DH) tend to throw me off with all their demands when they are awake, so it's way easier to do things before they get up.

    Oh I SO agree. Here in our house times tend to creep in summer also... as hubby is a professor... but I feel better and am more productive if I don't fall into that habit. For me getting up before 8 is key to a really good day. :) You can DO this.

    I like getting up early too. Since it is summer I haven't been sticking to a set schedule. I'm going to work on getting up earlier and getting my workout done. Thanks for the reminder! emoticon
