Just a few thoughts......

I haven't written a blog in awhile so I thought I'd put down just a few thoughts.
: the heat wave we've been having has ceased for a couple of days....our winter was a mild one and June's temps were more like August's usually are...can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the summer. Who said "there is no global warming" ?

: trying to stay creative in the kitchen, here's a couple of examples.
- for a treat/dessert yesterday I took 1/2 cup strawberries topped it with a 100 cal. YoCrunch cheesecake yogurt, sprinkled a tablespoon of mini chocolate chips along with the crumbly topping from the yogurt - what a refreshing way to end the day.
- for lunch today I took a left over chicken thigh (boneless, skinless) pulsed it in the food processor: to it I added some summer cole slaw (confetti style slaw with chopped tomato and cukes) Put the chicken salad on top of a bed of baby greens that I mixed with some lemon juice - topped that off with one crumbled tortilla chip (for some extra crunch) Yummy - if I don't say so myself..
- My newest find for my popcorn "fix" is "Angie's" Kettle carmel corn. 2 1/3 cups = 150 cal.
- still drinking Arnold Palmer's Zero half and half (thank you JUSTA123) If you are not familiar this is 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 iced tea...with zero cals.

: And my last thought for now, hopefully not jinxing myself.....I am one pound away from my goal...been reading all the articles I can find on the best approach to maintaining my weight loss.....I feel like I will be closing another chapter in this journey to a healthier lifestyle. I do know that if I continue with my portion control (within my calorie range) and my soon to be revamped exercise routine (starting classes at the Y next week) plus being in touch with all of my Spark friends I can do this, just like I was able to take off 49 soon to be 50 #s.

Hope every one is having a good day and making healthy choices....after all it is up to each and every one of us to stay accountable for our actions.

That is just fantastic! 51 pounds down and at your desired weight. So exciting! emoticon

It must feel sooooo good. I am so happy for you. You are amazing and you give me hope every day as I look at your weight loss journey.

    Great blog, Barb! I love to do things with yogurt. I take some plain Greek yogurt and mix in a package of sugar free cocoa mix. Almost like having chocolate ice cream but with fewer calories and more protein!

How exciting that you're only one pound away from your goal. emoticon emoticon

    emoticon I hope one day to be able to say the same. Goal made! It is so great to be able to feel good about yourself. The hard work will begin soon when you have to work at staying at that confortable weight. Love yourself and all is made possible. So proud of you.

DS loves his Arnold Palmer and buys it by the
case. Of course, mom pays for it LOL!
Loved all the creative food ideas. Something to
ponder and try soon. I know where you are
coming from with the weather. Our grass is
as dry as in a normal late September.
What is next? Who knows!

Your YoCrunch cheesecake yogurt w/ mini chips sounds decadent. If only the mini chips were sold by the tablespoon...I can't keep chocolate in the house for long; it's just too tempting.
