Focusing on where I am, at 250

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

A little while back I was really close to reaching my 50 pounds lost mark I was at 240 (just 4 pounds to reach my 50 gone) But then I started slowly gaining again. I reviewed my progress and took at look at what was different in my life. I set new goals, I tried different exercises, and nothing seemed to be helping so I started to feel discouraged and started slipping even more. And now I am back up to 250 lbs (36 down from start weight).

Early September I see my doctor again, He has been allowing me to stay off of some medications because I was making progress toward my weight loss and improving my Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Blood sugar numbers. I need to show that I am still making progress so I NEED to lose 15 pounds and get officially past 50lbs DONE, gone and never coming back.

15 lbs in 9 weeks is doable (under 2lbs a week). The difficulty is that I’ve been going the wrong direction on the scale. So I need to really focus on this and find a way to reverse where I have been headed lately and start making progress again.

This is me at my heaviest back in 2003.

This is me back in June 2010 when I first got down to 250 lbs.

I'm going to take a current picture this week and post an update to see if 250 now looks the same as 250 then.

Losing weight is a constant battle. It's kind of like quitting smoking. Some people have to quit several times. I lost over 70 lbs a few years ago and then I regained over 50.

I have finally pinpointed a number of problems in my behavior and I'm working on them, but I have to be hypervigilant about things that most people don't even think about. Sometimes it just takes time and trying, trying, trying again!

emoticon emoticon emoticon You can do it.. I have found weight I originally lost but now I am hoping (with the help of my recent surgery) that it is all behind me now.. it was not easy that is for sure... if dropping pounds was easy we would all be thin!

You've still made great progress so be proud of yourself! I know you can do it - we've all been in the same position...sometimes we get a little confident and slip back into old habits. Well, you have noticed your mistakes and now you're going back to fixing them. You know you can do it - you've already done it!! SUCCESS!

I did the same thing, so I decided to make it easy on myself and use the planned meals on the nutrition tracker - it's working out well. Maybe it would work for you!

i am sure there will be a differance as you have been doing exercise and that tones up as we all know you should also know by the size clothes you were in then to now.try not to concentrate too much on the lbs you have put back on put them behind you they are not going to stay anyway.concentrate more on the lbs you have lost and kept off, concentrate on all the nsv big and small like having less medication, being less out of breath when you do things, etc, etc.i am sure when you look you will find many.you can do this love you just have to want it enough. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon girlfriend! Stay strong! I was in the same boat as you until last September when I said enough is enough - I was determined to head back in the right direction - DOWN~! I set a plan on scheduled days of exercise that were not optional and religiously began logging my food on SP. Since that date, I am down 30 lbs and just returned to 50 lbs DONE since I joined SP in 2008. Good luck to you my friend - it is mind over matter. I am cheering for you!
