Better Late Than Never????

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

I have not contributed a blog since April 2011. I did not realize it had been that long and while I was blogging, it seemed to help me stay on track.

I have been consumed with my lovely Sloan, DGGD, who turned 2 this year. What a joy for an 80 year old woman who is still alive, healthy, and still able to enjoy those wonderful things such as a new little person in the family.

But I digress....I have joined the Spirited Underdogs, 5% Summer this summer and am happy to be there. I had not heard of this team and was directed there by a dear Spark friend. I am so excited by their great interests and recording setups. I have lost a little and I had 8 weeks to lose 9.25 lbs. They may have a chat room, but I have found where there is a chat room, that is all there is...a chat room. No other incentive to keep you on track.

The leaders of Spirited Underdogs are right there everyday urging you on, giving you new tips, and always a new incentive. Dawgs, I salute you and thank you for the newness I have obtained in losing the weight I came here to lose.

When I first came here emoticon ago, I lost 50 llbs, but the maintenance did not last long and I have gained back 30 hard-to-lose- lbs.

Take note: This is not a d-i-e-t but a new lifestyle and we must watch portions, calories, etc. all the rest of our lives.

Thanks Dawgs,

"Puppy" Jean

Oh Jean, you have encouraged me with your blog. I wonder if joining your group of puppies might help me get back on track also? I so need to get back on track. I have gained 25 lbs back that I had lost. That is so heart breaking to me but my head just can't follow my heart for some reason.

I am so proud of you. You go girl!!

Love,
Your friend Shirley

The weight sure does come back on much more easily than we were able to shed it. You're right, if we want to be healthy, this is for life!
As a puppy and new to the 5% Challenge, I am blown away by the support and encouragement and dedication that our leaders put into this. They are the BEST!!!
GO DAWGS!!! emoticon

The good side is that you now acknowledge that you are not on a diet. The weight will come off again and this time you have greater incentive to keep it off emoticon emoticon Go DAWGS!
