It is really hot here. I have not been going out any more than I really need to. I had errands to run today that I could not put off. Also when I was leaving Hubby told me that we were out of cat food. I could not get cool anywhere I went. I had to stop by Penneys and I truely believe that the ac was not working. They had problems with it all last summer and it felt like it today. I was trying to get out as soon as possible and they have rearranged everything so it took me a while.
I then went to the beautfy supply place as I needed color for my hair. Had to park on the other side of the lot. I do not mind that on a reasonable day, but just too hot today. Then I stopepd into Marshalls as I am looking for a special purse and I was hoping they would have what I was looking for. but no......not today. I had seen on in there I liked but it was gone. Good, it was not the perfect one.
Hubby got up this morning and told me to get ready as he did not bring any books from the Market and Miss Coco and I could ride out with him and he would bring up back home before going to the gym. We went by and picked up some coffee and when on to market and then when we turned into our neighborhood, I heard Hubby, what the........and a buzzer was going off. The system had turned on to tell him the tire pressure was low. He said well no gym today this has to be taken care of. We took Miss Coco in the house and off to the tire place. They told him they would check and reset the system for him. Well, they found a nail in a rear tire. They fixed it and when Hubby was going to pay them, it was no charge. That was a surprise, but we have purchased our last three sets of tires from them. That sealed the deal, they will be our tire place whenever. No one gives free service on tires you did not purchase from them.
I went to Publix as my last stop to get cat food. We always purchase the large bag of Meow Mix for the herd. When I went throught the check out the clerk laughed and told me $87.29. I just looked at him and said well you have a new job. You get to go to my house and tell the cats they had better learn to be mouser, because I cannot afford to feed them. He started laughing so hard. He said I looked so wiped out he wanted to get me to react. I started laughing also, because I looked down at the moniter and saw the real amount. He asked me how he would explain to the cats they needed to be mouser. I said well you would need to show them how and teach them. Then we both had another laugh and the lady behind me was laughing as hard as we were. She remarked I want to see that lesson.
I got home, but was just too hot to fight with the bag. I was wiping the water out of my eyes as I was driving. Told Hubby the freone is again low in my car. So he will be charging it up this week. We need to get the o rings replaced so he does not have to do this.
I took Miss Coco out about an hour ago and I was met my the meowing herd, following me and rolling around my feet. It is unusual as they are ferrel and will not let you tough them, but apparently they think they need to show affection as I was not feeding them. I was getting the food out when my neighbor called to me to wait. He came over took it out and opened it and put some in their dish. I could handle it at that time, I had come in and rested and cooled down, but he is always looking out for us. We have two neighbors that do things for us. We always share with them also. We will be going to the country and bring back some peas and beans and we always give them. Hubby gave each a gift certificate at Christmas to get a turkey ior what they need. Both are disabled but not recieving any assistance etc. They both hussle around to make some money to keep going. After the disaster of Katrina and the organized charities Hubby and I agreed we would help where we personally know there is a need.
This has worked well for us. We always seem to find real people that need a hand here or there. Some have tryed to return this to us, but Hubby tells them to find someone that needs it at that time. We have been fortunate and have been able to stay afloat in this economy. Not easy, but we have done it so far.
