Perspective

Monday, July 09, 2012

You know about the mother beetle who looks at her progeny and sees a butterfly? I look in the mirror and see a thin person. Perhaps I should have named this blog "Comparison"
Last year at this time, I weighed 29 lbs. more and subsequently, my mirror is like one of those from the fun house at the fair. To me, it now reflects a slim, chic woman, healthy and energetic.
In reality, I am recuperating from my pneumonia, am still 31 lbs. overweight, I'm wearing a stained, raggedy nightie (the best old friend for recuperating). Did I say my shoulders were drooping because I don't feel well?
Anyway, my plan between now and August 9th is to get back to walking by Friday and back to water aerobic by Saturday. That and a proper diet should get me a loss of 5-10 pounds. It sounds a little ambitious to me, but that's because this last 5 lbs. to my half-way mark has taken such a long time.
But hope springs eternal and now that I'm back in the real world I hope and plan to be a better, healthier person.
Wish me luck?

Your sense of humour is one of your most powerful gifts. I suspect it can take you anywhere. Good luck with your health; I hope you're already feeling better (since I didn't see this blog when you wrote it:)).
    Take care
