Dam 2 Dam Done!!! Onto to a Half Marathon!! WOOT WOOT!

Monday, July 09, 2012

So I finished the Dam to Dam in 2 hours and 27 minutes. You were allowed 3 hours. The race was 12.48 miles long and I had only ran 4 and 1/2 miles straight before this race. Thanks to an awesome friend who ran with me, I didn't run any of it and the lord provided the BEST weather for the day. Started out in the mid 50's and by the end of the race it was almost 70. We had lots of clouds and some shade and until the 10th mile, it was not that hard. About mile 10, the reality sets in, I HAVE 2 MORE MILES!!!! You think you can't make it any farther and then you start realizing, Oh my Lord, I just ran 10 miles how can I NOT make 2 more little tiny miles!!!
I will say at the finish line after they took my time chip, my legs were JELLO!!! I had to go stretch out and catch my breath before we looked for the rest of the group.

I went 3 weeks after that race recuperating and not running at all because my hip was giving me fits. God has healed me completely and given me a wonderful and smart Chiropractor who supplied me with the best inserts. I am pain free and can run as far as I want now.

In October is the IMT Marathon. While I have NO desire to run 26 miles, I know that I can do the 13. SOOOO, 1/2 Marathon here I come!!! I will let you know how that goes!!!

I did get a medal and a certificate for the Dam to Dam and will take a pic of them hanging up and get it posted. I will also transfer my pics from race day to my Spark page so that you can see me in action.

Thanks for checking out my blog and for all of you who supported me to this point!!!
I appreciate you all!
