Wow, it's been almost 2 months

Friday, July 06, 2012

Okay, I just had a reality check. It's been two months since I got back on this website, and my progress isn't necessarily where I'd like it to be. I've lost 5.5 pounds, and I could've lost a lot more than that. Did an awesome workout this morning that made me feel very proud of myself. I did the 45 minute "Blast Fat, Boost Metabolism" Jillian Michaels DVD. I haven't been able to do that workout in over 9 months. At least I can be proud of that. At the end of the day, I could have given up. If I don't look at the positives then I'll just get swallowed up in the "could haves." Yes, it's been 2 months, but in two months this is how much I've accomplished:

- running 3 miles
- feeling more energized
- better sleep
- stronger muscles
- clothes fitting a little better
- less soreness in my feet
- greater flexibility
- less stress
- better mood with boyfriend
- more cooking at home, less eating out
- beating all the skinny girls in my FITNS400 class in the timed 1.5 mile run!!! yeah, pretty stoked about that one. :P

So, maybe I've only lost 5 pounds, but I've gained a lot. :) Maybe I'll be the slug on Sparkpeople, but I'll be the proud slug crossing the finish line. It took my twin sister a year to lose 50 pounds, but she did it at her own pace and she couldn't be more proud. This is my journey. There is no right way or wrong way for me to take this journey as long as I'm constantly working towards my goal.

It's amazing how quick the changes happen. So many people don't notice the changes at all and get mad at the scale! So glad to see that you are looking beyond the # on the scale =]

emoticon - you have so much more to feel good about in the future!!
