I hate swanson

Thursday, July 05, 2012

I was doing OK today in spite of myself and then "someone" decided she would do me a favour and buy me a TV dinner for supper ( Hungry Man Turkey - its sort of OK except I keep thinking about cracking jokes about how HUNGRY you HAVE to be to eat it in the FIRST place!!) So even though I didn't eat all that much however with 1570 mg in ONE serving it made my sodium soar!! And NOT in a GOOD way - so be warned. I didn't realise it would be that bad (it doesn't taste like it was marinated in SEAWATER!!). I guess I will think twice before buying those again (at least in the near future - I would have been better off opening a tin of salmon or a few other things).

Yes, frozen dinners - sodium's best friend. The the rest of the night you are chugging water like a fish! You live, you learn, you move on.

We buy them sometimes. When you are desperate you make do but they are the worst kind of frankenfood.

I have been eating a lot of fruit, veggies, chicken and fish. I have been found to be sensitive to 9 foods and it seems very difficult sometimes because I have to cut out excess sodium, all wheat and other gluten containing foods, soy products, dairy products (cow and goat), pork, onions, green beans, peanuts, eggs and cottonseed oil. (and 1 more I can't remember)....

I am sure your Swanson dinner had at least 5 of those foods. I have to carry a magnifying glass to the grocery store cause they write the ingredients way too small.
