My diet guidelines

My doctor suggested a 2000 calorie diet for maintaining my weight.

I've set my daily carbs at 225-325 grams/day, protein at 50-175 grams/day, and fat at 44-78 grams/day.

If any of this sounds incorrect to you (carb, protein and fat grams), let me know please. I will double-check with my doctor next time I see him.

    Thanks to everyone's help (including Coach Denise) my new guidelines are:

2000 calories/day
Carbs 236-325 grams
protein 60-175 grams
fat 47-77 grams

If anyone still sees any discrepancies, let me know. emoticon

    50 grams of protein sounds a bit low for 2000 calories?

    Let's see. Carbs and protein are 4 calories per gram. Fat is 9 calories per gram. So I calculated your minimum calorie intake as carbs = 900 + protein = 200 + fat = 396 for a total minimum of 1496. You can now calculate the maxs and make sure you've go the range right. Then check. You probably want 50% of calories to come from carbs, 30% from protein, and 20% from fat. However, checking with your doctor or RD is best!
