Sorry for editing and reposting this several times.
I was about to post about myself on facebook on today and realized maybe I need to reassess what I want to say. Just the act of writing it out here made me feel better. I've been on some emotional roller coaster for the last few weeks and I need to get perspective before posting this, let alone saying it face to face to anyone. I'm not a 'hang it all out there person' like a lot of my friends probably think I am... although, considering I'm even contemplating this means the desire to do this is an essential part of my personality and I've probably acted on it before. Funny how your friends always see you for who you are, even when you don't.
~~~~~This is what I want to post, when I'm ready~~~~~
My apologies for the length of this post. I probably have too much time on my hands since I'm off work today. Some of you know over the last 10 months I pulled myself into a hole and began contemplating my navel. In other words, total reassessment time. As a birthday present to me, I'm sharing myself with you. This is my Independence Day.
In no particular order:
I am a Christian, Lesbian, Black, Woman. I talk a lot (as you know) and I'm also painfully shy (which you may not know).
I'm a Sci-Fi, Anime, Manga fanatic and love exploring Japanese culture. I am a media and entertainment junkie who currently does not own a smart phone. My musical taste runs the gamut of hip-hop soul, funk, pop, some rap, 60's hippy music, classical, gospel, spa, jazz, and metal.
Currently voluptuously curvy, I'm taking steps to better my health and be more active. I've always been blessed with Smith & Wesson hips (Pow Pow) and I'm proud of it!
I voted for President Obama and think he is doing the best he can given what he walked into. I'm proud of him for not turning tail and running away.
This December I will have been married 18 years to my lovely wife Lisa. She is my rock and I strive to be hers. And yes, we are legally married in California.
I love myself and am learning to love me better. I love all of you fiercely, caring about you all, and thinking of you often. Each of you is special and has shaped me in someway. Thank you for being a blessing in my life.
You might ask why am I sharing this with all of you and so publicly. Simply put, I've made parts of myself invisible because I was afraid you wouldn't like them. That ends today. UnFriend me if needed. I'll understand if you're shocked that I love metal bands. I always have and always will. Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Metallica Rock! :-)
