I haven't been around for awhile because I've been having a great summer. Well, not perfect, but I'm really enjoying my days. About a month ago, I got diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonitis, which is the tendon that goes from the inside of the calf to the arch of your foot. So that scratched me from the Evergreen Tri in Hudson, IL this month, and the Chicago Half Marathon this coming September. I have been staying off my feet whenever I can, and I even quit walking, and I've stayed on my bike and done some swimming. I don't think I have done enough swimming, but I've been on my bike almost every day. Biking and swimming are the main reasons I like summer so much, so even though I haven't been able to train for stuff I wanted to do, I've been having a great time doing things I like doing. :)
Probably the bigger disappointment is in my strength training, which has been tossed by the wayside for the summer. I just don't have the money to pay for a gym membership, and during the school year my gym fees are paid along with my tuition. So up until finals week, I was doing really well. Now, I can tell that I'm just not very strong. I can't wait until August 20 when classes start, so I can get back in the swing with my ST program.
My food hasn't been bad, but could definitely be better. I haven't worried too much about it, because I've been so active, but when school starts up again I will have to get a handle on things again. I do well for b-fast, lunch, and then get snack-ey in the afternoon so that's frustrating. I'm getting enough water and also enough fruit/veggies, but probably some extra water instead of snacks in the afternoon would really help me do better.
My batteries in my scale are dead, and I haven't been able to use the scale at the gym, so I have no clue what I weigh right now. I have 1 pair of shorts that's too big on me, the rest of them fit about the same. My swimsuit top feels tighter and so do my bras, and I think it's because I haven't been doing the ST. I hope when I do get to weigh in again, it will be about the same as it was at the start of the summer.
I guess that's about all for now. Sorry I haven't been around. I'm still logging my water and exercise on my phone; I'm surprised there isn't a way to log fruit/vegetables on the phone app because then I would be able to track that too. All in time, I guess. I hope everyone is having a great summer. :)
